England beat the USA to become the first team to qualify for the T20 World Cup semi-finals. Chris Jordan took a hat-trick, only the second bowler in the tournament to do so, after Pat Cummins who took a hat-trick in two consecutive games (Afghanistan and Bangladesh). Jos Buttler batted beautifully and England knocked off the target with plenty of overs to spare.
In the early morning match on Monday, South Africa beat the West Indies by 3 wickets in a close game to become the second team from Group 2 to qualify for the semi-finals.
Later in the day, India confirmed their semi-final spot after beating Australia by 24 runs at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St. Lucia. In the final game of the Super 8, Afghanistan beat Bangladesh by 8 runs (DLS) to knock out Australia and become the third team to qualify for the semi-finals. This will be Afghanistan’s first time in a T20 World Cup semi-final.
Afghanistan needed a win to qualify for the semi-finals while Bangladesh had a small chance but needed a big performance.

The first semi-final is South Africa vs Afghanistan on June 26, 2024 at 08:30 local time at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago.

The second semi-final is India vs England later the same day at 16:30 local time at the Providence Stadium.
