Google has recently announced a significant firmware update for its Google Home, Home Mini, Nest Mini, and Nest Audio speakers. The tech giant has always been committed to providing regular updates through its Preview Program, and South African users of these devices can look forward to enhanced functionality and features.
Revamping Google Speakers
Google is currently testing the latest firmware update, version 3.79.550760, which promises to bring a host of improvements to its speaker line. This update is a clear reflection of Google’s commitment to ensuring that its devices continue to serve their users optimally, long after their initial purchase.
South African users, like their counterparts worldwide, have come to rely heavily on Google’s smart speakers for various daily tasks. These tasks range from setting reminders and alarms, controlling smart home devices, to streaming music and accessing news updates. The firmware update aims to make these tasks even more seamless and efficient.
What to Expect
While Google has not released a detailed list of the changes in the new firmware, users can expect performance improvements and bug fixes that enhance the user experience. It’s also anticipated that the update will incorporate new features that will allow users to interact with their devices in new and exciting ways.
As always, Google ensures that its updates are rolled out in phases, with the Preview Program members getting first access. This approach allows Google to get user feedback and make any necessary adjustments before releasing the update to the general public. South African users who are part of the Preview Program can look forward to an early adoption of the new features.
Conclusion
As Google continues to improve its products, South African users can expect their Google Home and Nest devices to become even more integral in their daily lives. The firmware update is not just about the enhancements it brings but also serves as a testament to Google’s commitment to continually improving their products, keeping them relevant and useful in the evolving world of technology.
