The iPhone 15 Pro was launched on September 22, 2023, marking a new chapter in Apple’s innovative journey. The announcement of the inclusion of the Action button and a sleek titanium frame heralded an exciting change.

Fast-forward to the end of the first quarter of 2024, the iPhone 15 lineup is now half a year old. The smartphone market has since seen the introduction of several flagship Android devices, with the OnePlus 12 and the Samsung Galaxy S24 standing out. Despite this influx of new Android phones, the iPhone 15 Pro remains the primary device I use.
There are multiple reasons why the iPhone 15 Pro continues to be my favourite handset. One disappointment, though, is that Apple positioned the iPhone 15 Pro Max as the more “premium” device due to its superior telephoto lens. However, this doesn’t overshadow the remarkable features of the smaller iPhone 15 Pro. Six months on, the device continues to dazzle with its smooth operation and intuitive user interface.
A standout feature that I’ve found indispensable is Apple’s Auto Portrait feature. It has become such an integral part of my photography experience that I often find myself missing it when using an Android phone. This serves as a reminder of how essential this feature has become in enhancing my photo-taking experiences.

Another aspect that appeals to me is the compact size of the iPhone 15 Pro, especially when compared with its larger counterpart. Don’t let the smaller size fool you, though. The iPhone 15 Pro comes equipped with the powerful A17 Pro chipset and runs on iOS 17. The lightweight titanium frame exudes a premium feel, while the Action button adds a layer of convenience. The introduction of USB-C charging is a welcome change and has proven to be incredibly handy. Although the battery life could stand some improvement, I usually have easy access to a power outlet or a portable battery pack. Additionally, the availability of a wide range of cases and accessories allows for plenty of customization options.
Reflecting on the past six months, the iPhone 15 Pro remains my most frequently used smartphone. Given its performance and features, I foresee this trend continuing well into the future. To conclude, even six months post-launch, the iPhone 15 Pro is still a worthy contender in the competitive smartphone market.
